Autodesk 3ds Max Boards
techno
I am now getting into Autodesk 3ds Max v8 & using Windows 7
I have made some simple things such as a rotating earth some stars
and other plane objects, I also have many questions on how to do things I would like to ask.
1st one will be how to make a plane 2 sided???

I don't want to fill up the Vietcong tech talk about Autodesk 3ds Max stuff
and was wondering if I could ask for a new board that is for Autodesk 3ds Max talk!

It's about using the PteroMat options for Vietcong of course as it's about vietcong
object and I don't want to know everything about everything about 3dmax
only about making object for vietcong

I want to know more and things I ask might help others to learn as well
I will ask some silly stuff I know, because sometimes something as simple
as just press "s" is very important to do but if you don't know about it that!!!
what do you do next! most ppl give up but I spend hours studying Smile

cheers

apfelbaum
press "s", that was an epic problem Grin
1. to make a plane 2 sided apply your texture to the plane and make a tick in the material browser (if pteromat is activated) in 2 sided.

about pteromat in 3ds max
2. if you have problems with the czech version of the collision material you can translate them into english. for this go to your 3ds max main folder\plugcfg and open the file "pteroColMat" with eg. notepad. the content you can copy into google translater and copy the english version back into the file and overwrite it.
3. if you want a transparent texture applied to the object, their are some type of transparencys. you can use them for a complete transparent texture, only the alpha channel is transparent...

I also noticed there is a file called pterocolmat.cz.ini in the same folder so a removed it. was this the correct thing to do?
