I see you found the Vietcong Hub on Discord which has recently brought together separate elements of the community.
At the moment, VC has been enjoying a rise in the number of regular CTF games happening (pre-arranged through clans on https://vietcong-league.eu/)
During late December and January holiday break, we've been seeing 2-3 servers 5x5 CTF and usually 2-3 servers with up to 8 in Coop games - most evenings! Not the numbers of the old days but quite impressive for a 17 year old FPS.
Maybe some servers could be re-named for that day and clans could display some references to Pterodon, Gathering or something in their tags? A selection of servers, maps, funwars etc... could make for an interesting day in VC?

I hope Jarek will "rediscover" (if it was needed) the game we never really stopped to play because... Nah! No need to say "why", we all know it! lol
If you can gather enough players, I'm suggesting to play IntrusionWars_beta_2 in DM or TDM modes for example... The map has many different areas for many different gameplays, and because the map is also really big, even the radio class can be played there!

I am in touch with Jarek Kolar, the one that made Vietcong, and asked him few weeks ago if he was interested to do an online game with the fan community which still play, and he agreed.
He post on Twitter yesterday that he is thinking about make an AAA Vietcong, which could be amazing on this old game !
I am in touch with some modders through discord and other social's platform that helped this game to still be playable today.
By respect of the work and time that people gave to the game, I also asked him if he would like to exchange with them, he also agreed.
He have a free time to do this from Saturday 22pm to Sunday 5am (Europe Time).
The objective of this exchange, is to give your owns feedbacks, or what you did to make that game still playable today.
Also if you have questions, he will answer, this will be an open threat.

Maybe it could be also useful to record the event and the Q & A to post them on the "social medias", to increase the interest and the hype for a possible "Vietcong 3" in the future?
Unfortunately, I couldn't join the event, so yeah, I hope some(one) will post a little resume of what happened... Like for example: the participants, the maps that have been played, the subjects aborded during the Q & A, and what have been said... Not only for my curiosity but also for the one of all those who haven't been able to participate.
I missed it too, but was able to join an hour afterwards with a few people on discord. They said they'd have another session with Jarek, Shigor, and several others again very soon. Ill share this information with you if i get it.
