Too many fps? - Oo
Domi
Hey ya,

i got a new Computer and today i wanted to play DustGlas but i couldn't move, my player wasn't really walking.
So i checked my fps and well they were about 2200-2500 and so i thought okay, my computer is too good for that map.

But then i jumped and my player was hanging in the sky for some seconds. I tried it again and jumped twice and my player got higher in the sky. So i jumped and jumped and WTF! as you can see on the screenshots i could get as high as i want. Did you know that? Oo

And does anyone know how i can solve this problem? because i like DustGlas..

At scree2 you can see me having the same problems..
i think it appears from 1000fps Sad at DG i got about 1500

Enable "vsynch" in your video driver...that limits your fps to 60. If you want more than 60 fps, a simple search on the net ("fps limiter"Wink will bring a lot of results. MSI Afterburner is my favorite tool Wink

Thank you for your answer Silent Smile

Am i at the right place to set the fps limit when i change it at "Framerate Graphic Properties" "Maximum limit"?

Are you out of map (bug)... i mean you look where map not exist..

Of course that this happening thats normal for any game...

I am not out of the map. I can jump inside the map as high as i want. --> I don't think that this is normal for any game.

Enable "vsync":

in CCC - graphics - 3D - all - scroll down to 'Wait for vertical refresh' and and set it on the 'quality - allways on' option on far right on the slider

just for testing

I set it.. and it doesn't work. Still 2300 fps..

Thats really strange......cause that forced setting should overwrite the applikation settings of VC.

Your video driver is uptodate?

Do you have this problem also on some standart map like NVA Base? How much FPS do you have there? Can you tell us more about your HW?

Maybe only map is corrupted, or something with Vietcong. I can advice to download DustGlass again, maybe reinstall of Vietcong.

This happends to alot of people i know of, im also one of them. Dustglass, dustworld and such small maps is unplayable for me without a few other programs running at my desktop while im playing vc(to get my FPS down). If im not doing this im getting stuck all around the map, and if i jump well then im starting to get further and further up in the air.

I have also done this in several other maps like NVA and Halongport but then with only few other players on the server. It is quit fun to do this to get up on high places where you normaly cant be able to reach Smile
SignatureWhat do you know about getting owned?!

@ Silent: Yes, my video driver is uptodate :/ I am gonna try again if it probably works with MSI Afterburner..

@Kosti: No, NVABase is perfect, i have just 400 fps there.

My Hardware: CPU: Intel Quad Core i7-2600K, 3,4GHz,
Video card: Radeon HD 7970 3GB
RAM: 8 GB, 1600 Mhz
Vietcong is installed on a SSD card

I don't think that it's a problem with the map, because it's the same at Dustworld. Always when it reach the limit of 1000 fps it's unplayable.

Maybe it is because of the SSD card?

@ Puma: You can do that at NVA? Oo, your HW? Smile

KostiCZ
Hmmm, too good HW Smile So did you try to enable 8xAA or something what can decrease FPS? Somewhere at forum SB wrote how to make resampling of resolution from 2560x2048 to half resolution fitted to screen. So it can decrease FPS also. And in this case - graphics is much better. Smile Try it, maybe it can help also.

AFAIK downsampling is not supported by ATI video cards.

Here is the solution for everybody who got too much fps!

Download: dxtory // i wont give a download link here. you can find it on google

Close every graphic card and overlay tools! !-This is very important-!
(ATI Tray Toolz, AfterBurner, Fraps, Rivatuner, etc.)

Start dxtory and go to the 'Advanced' Tab. Mark 'Limit Video FPS' and enter your limit.

Start Vietcong. dxtory will autodetect it if you followed all the steps above.

You can see your fps in the left top corner or with 'showfps 1'.

Have fun guys!

PS: Cant remember that little maps can be sooo much fun Wink
