I’m trying to open a dedicated server from China, I follow the instructions for the ports, I opened 5425 & 15425 TCP & UDP.
VCDED is launching and when I try to find my server it appears only in LAN.
I am using a device since the great firewall of China is locking almost everything outside the country from internet (that’s a small circuit connected to my router with algorithms which locate me in the us) and + I use a vpn to have access to the servers. (If I don’t use a vpn I can see only 5 servers in the list)
hey Virus, it is pretty normal that u see ur own server only in LAN because its in ur LAN... well its really interesting how u fix ur problems with the capitalistic state (in EU we will have next year the same problem - youtube will have to delete all EU channels)
please try to open this ports for server:
3783 (voice chat Port for lan use)
27900 (Master Server UDP Heartbeat)
28900 (Master Server list reguest)
29900 (GP Connection manager)
29901 (GP Search manager)
13139 (Custom UDP Pings)
15425 (Vietcong Server)
6515 (Oplay UDP)
6500 (Query Port)
5425 (Default vc port)
i think ur host file is how it should be so check vietcong1.eu and vietcong.tk/serverlist.php to see if ur server appears in the internet.
Actually (we think) qtracker is already down so u can just see West OR East European Servers because czech proud hosts dont want to have same serverlist as the french host (I still dont understand that)...
because qtracker's ip is still well knowned for many years and still running
forget about "all new ip of master gamespy server for vietcong" - they are actually splitting vc community and making "blind" servers in one global serverlist which is qtracker
there is still no need to have new or more ip for master server, more cons than pros these days
future: if qtracker dead, than we should have 1 ! (one!) new ip for serverlist annouced here in forum for example

Should I open all the other ports both TCP & UDP ?
What’s seems me weird is that I have absolutely to use a vpn to launch vcded.
As I told you I am using a device already with my router which give me a dynamic ip in the USA, if I start a server from vcded like this the server is not launching at all.
When I connect a vpn it’s working like the following picture.
But even with all those ports open in the router I still can’t see it in the public server, only in my LAN

I don’t get what you mean, between in China all the providers are under the “Great Firewall of China” which is locking everything from outside the country.
I have an other router from China Telecom which is not possible to edit, even the staff from them company doesn’t have the right from the government to change the settings.
And I don’t know anything about this kind of things, I just know that most of the outside world is locked here by the government and there is some devices which help to go through.
Public IPv4 under which you are seen in the world must only be provided to you to host services such as FPT, game servers. I'm afraid you do not have the chance.
