Ammo boxes and Med box / kit

Hi all,

I came across some maps where these work perfectly. But looking inside with Total commander gives me no ideas how to do it.
There are objects in the standard db which I found and added but have no functionality. Am I missing a step? Do they require a script to work?

I also saw Ando's ones that work with synchronised objects:

But I don't know what he means by "assign script to that object" in the script files comments.
I have the script from the zip but don't know how to assign it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks dude - a very helpful video.

I've been able to get the medkits and medibag working which is great!

However, still no luck with the Ammobag. It seems to be missing from the list of items you posted.
It appears as #61 in the SDK scripting.html file.

So I am still stuck on getting a working ammobag. Ando's one interests me but as I said previously, these work with synchronised objects:

SUMMARY, ADDING WEAPONS AND AMMOBOXES to COOP

1. Edit your VIETCONG\dev\compiler\inc\mplevel.inc

I made this modification based on Obie's instructions. (End of text) To add ammoboxes, just add any dynamic object named AmmoboxCTF0 to the map. Or create your dynamic object like I did. All that is needed is to add dynamic properties to the object in 3DS MAX (watch in added picture whre I added dynymic properties to AMMOBOX_CTF0). I made a G9_AMMOBOX.BES, it's a box and inside a cartridge where you can reload your ammo. Inside is a subentity called AmmoboxCTF0, so it calls the script. Next to adding weapons to the COOP.
You have to use object "weapon".stg from pteroeditor.
I will give Baikal as an example. I add the object G\Weapons\VvH_DoubleSG\VvH_DoubleSG_stg to the map and change its name according to the list of weapons (baikal(doubleSG) is 28, I've marked it in light green in the list below). So in Pteroeditor I name the weapon (VvH_DoubleSG_stg) as #28_doublesg or maybe #28_biggun or #28youcannameithowyouwant. (this # character and number of the weapon are important) The gun numbers are also in the list below.

2. For weapons, you still need to edit your COOP.c
COOP.C should be in your VIETCONG\Levels\YOURMAPS\data\YOURCURRENTMAP\scripts\coop.c

You can use any item including intel, but it can be dropped in the game and it causes the server to crash. I used it in the G_Shadowlands map, you can check it out.

How to get an Ammobox that works into your coop level.

I have been trying to get my head around this for a while now and have finally worked it out.
Now that I have done it I cannot believe how simple it is to achieve.
Here’s what to do.
Open mplevel.inc and select edit to have it open in notepad.
Now copy this from me here:
case GVAR_MP_MISSIONTYPE_COOP:
hide_CTF_flags = FALSE;
break;
And place it between the “break;” and the “case GVAR_MP_MISSIONTYPE_CTR:” so it looks like this
etc…
break;
case GVAR_MP_MISSIONTYPE_COOP:
hide_CTF_flags = FALSE;
break;
case GVAR_MP_MISSIONTYPE_CTR:
etc…
Save and exit.
Open your editor and place the following item from the database:
ITEMS > U – BENDY-BARELY > IUL_WOODEN BOX1_DYNAMIC.BES
I will test but I think any DYNAMIC object will work
Don’t mess this part up!
Change the entity name to “AmmoboxCTF0”
Note! The last character is a zero not an o. It must be written just like this.
Once you have saved your work go to:
Editor > Multiplayer Game Editor
Create you game type and make sure the Game Type Name is “Coop”
Finalize and open your map in game. The only thing the Ammobox wont do is give you nades.
