VC Server List HOSTS file Mod

Offline Member Posts: 118 Joined: 24.06.15 Warnings:	doesnt matter if server's ip is static or not, choosing IP of master server is important why it is big deal for various servers? server uses qtracker's IP in hosts file: -- players using qtracker's IP in hosts file: can see your server -- players using another IP in hosts file: can see your server only if that master server was hardcoded into qtracker synchronisation server uses another IP in hosts file -- players using that another IP in hosts file: can see your server of course -- players using qtracker's IP in hosts file: canT see your server, qtracker doesnt care about your server, cause no synchro here qtracker's IP should be in hosts file for servers and players as long as possible, cause it was first master server and many players really dont care to change it if qtracker still alive (some players even dont know there is some alternative gamespy master server .... what it means for those players? they can join servers only by direct connection, no in-game server list) Edited by xhc on 26-07-2019 23:33
