Windows 7 64bit compatibility
VictorMyson
Hi,

I just installed vc2 on my w7 64bit machine, but it won't run. Is there a way of running this game with Windows 64bit?

Thank you Victor

Thanks Hade,
I just downloaded it, but that doesn't seem to work either. Still same Error: "The version of this file is not compatible with the version windows your'e running. Check your computers system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."

I have talked to 2K and they could only suggest to try changing the compatibility settings. I tried. Nothing different.

There is still exists something like Windows XP mode (not only compatibility mode), something like virtual XP Windows, but only for Pro and Ultimate version. You can try to run VC2 under this XP virtual Windows, maybe it can work (not tested).

Thank you for the advice guys. Gogs I tried the Run as Admin, and Kosti there is a xp mode from microsoft that I have but it is pretty slow. The solution to my problem Is that VietCong 2 has to be installed in the ProgramFiles(x86) file folder when running 64bit windows. Not the regular Program files folder. Thank again for your advice on this game.

Sincerely
Victor

Sorry, Mohawk, never heard about this problem. It seems like game is somehow corrupted, not real problem of windows. You can try to install VC from this DVD to another PC or copy this installed VC folder to another PC and test if it happen again :-( IMHO it is not problem of windows.

OK, last ideas from me:
- try to disable antivirus
- try to scan your PC for viruses
Shock
All other games are stable? If you say problem appear after some time mostly it is problem with overheating of GPU or CPU. But in this case it looks strange NO!

Is it an original VC2 game by the way, or a pirate version?

Is it vanilla game or are you using any mods?

Did it work someday? When? What OS did you have?
